Kent graduated from Eckerd College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in business management. He earned his law degree with honors from the University of Florida in 1991 where he received “Book Awards” for the overall highest grade in two classes. After obtaining his law degree, Kent received his Masters of Laws degree in Taxation from the University of Florida in 1992, one of the leading graduate tax study programs in the nation. He was admitted to practice law in the state of Florida in 1991, and has been practicing in Naples, Florida for over twenty-five years.

Prior to he and Nancy Gibbs forming Skrivan & Gibbs, PLLC, Kent was the founding member of the Law Offices of Kent Skrivan, PLLC. Kent has also served as the managing shareholder of the Naples, Florida office of Butzel Long, P.A. a large Michigan based law firm. Kent has maintained a transactional law practice concentrated in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration, and real estate.

Kent is an active member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar, and is a frequent speaker on various legal topics and has taught courses at the Florida Trust School.
